History - Hotel Victor, a Thompson Hotel in Miami South Beach

For seventy-five dazzling years, Hotel Victor, a Thompson Hotel has held a unique position on Ocean Drive.

By 1937, the year Hotel Victor, a Thompson Hotel debuted, cars had been crossing the causeway from Miami and rolling past beach for seventeen years.

The Victor was designed by Florida architect Lawrence Murray Dixon. Known as the “Dean of Deco,” Dixon's work on the Victor reflected his classic art deco flourishes… clean lines, bold curves, and playful detail.

French interior architect and designer Jacques Garcia has insured that today's Victor reflects the elegance of Dixon's original.

Best known for his work on the beloved Hotel Costes in Paris, Garcia has captured the spirit of the fabled past with his distinctive contributions to the Victor.

Today, guests are never far from the hotel's heritage, and always immersed in the essence of contemporary Miami Beach.
